'Flickers'

with works by Mishiho Fukuhama

A window display, in the heart of a covered passage.
Within, silent, borrowed scenes unfold.

Passage Sainte-Anne opened in 1829, a few years after Passage Choiseul, of which it is a modest extension.
Often described as a sanctuary for the flâneur, it lacks the luxury of its glorious predecessor and is not always clearly marked on Parisian maps.

In this liminal, transitional space, Mishiho Fukuhama (b. 1992) presents her debut European exhibition—the culmination of a dialogue with the gallery that began in Kyoto in 2024.
True to her practice, the Japanese artist casts the viewer into a nebulous space-time; she invites us to contemplate her meditative paintings through the window as if peering through a keyhole.
The result is the haunting sensation of becoming part of this private, closed-door world.

Nuance over the spectacular, introspection over bustle—a momentary daydream before slipping back into the rush of the Parisian streets.
